Johnny Hodge

Johnny Gale Hodge, Sr., died Friday, November 6th after a brief illness. He was surrounded by his loving family.

Johnny was born on November 9, 1947 in Morrilton, Arkansas to parents Frank E. Hodge and Hollis Alva Dortch Hodge. He was a U.S. Army veteran who served his country in the Vietnam War. For many years, Johnny was a Heights neighborhood fixture in locally-owned grocery stores, Corder's Model Market and Height's Thriftway where he was the Assistant Manager. He was retired from the Cathedral of St. Andrew.

Johnny will be remembered for his superb cooking skills, quick wit, amazing hair, baby blue eyes and his undying love and devotion for his wife and family.

Johnny is preceded in death by his parents, sister, and four brothers. He is survived by his wife of forty-four years, Katie Hoelzeman Hodge; his daughter, Amy Hodge Testone and her husband, Daryl Testone and their three children; his son, John Hodge, and his wife, Kristy Garrett Hodge and their six children.

Visitation will be Wednesday, November 11 from 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. at the Parish Hall of Our Lady of the Holy Souls Catholic Church, 1003 N. Tyler St., followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 1:00 p.m. at Holy Souls.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Carmelite Sisters, 7201 W. 32nd St., Little Rock, AR 72204 or to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675.
