Johnnie Ramsey

Johnnie Alvin Ramsey age 56 of El Paso, Arkansas died on February 1, 1991. Johnnie was born in El Paso to parents Randal Alvin Ramsey and Bertie Irene Ramsey (Ridings) on November 17, 1934. Johnnie graduated from Griffithville High School in 1954 and went on to graduate from Langston University in Langston, Oklahoma. Johnnie went on to teach school as his vocation and was an ordained Southern Baptist minister for over 30 years who spread the gospel over several States.

 Johnnie was preceded in death by his father Randal, a sister Elizabeth who died at birth, a brother Paul who died at a very early age, and his sister Mary Viola Southard.

Johnnie is survived by his wife Merline Ramsey and son John Alvin Ramsey, Jr. He is also survived by his mother Bertie Irene Ramsey (Ridings) of Wewoka Oklahoma and sisters Elsie Faye Burrell (Chuck) of Siloam Springs, Arkansas, Elvie Ann Perkins (Cookie) of Harrod, Oklahoma and Barbar Sue Morrison (James) of Holdenville, Oklahoma and his brothers Raymond Elmo Ramsey (Betty Jo) of Wewoka Oklahoma, Carthel Ray Ramsey (Patricia) of Griffithville, Arkansas, Nelson Ramsey (Brenda) of Noble Oklahoma, George Ramsey (Phyllis) of Norman, Oklahoma, James Ramsey of Wewoka Oklahoma, Morris Milton Ramsey (Margaret) of Virginia, Billy James Ramsey of Wewoka, Oklahoma, and Harold Lee Ramsey of Wewoka Oklahoma. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Services will be provided courtesy of Westbrook Funeral Home, Beebe Arkansas and Johnnie will be interred in Grissard Cemetery, El Paso, Arkansas.
