Johnnie Sue Fowler age 72 of Arkadelphia died Saturday. She was born in Clark County October 28, 1936 the daughter of Orvil and Ola Brown Taylor. She lived many places in America as the wife of a career soldier and enjoyed her retirement at her home in San Angelo, TX.
In addition to raising three boys, Johnnie had a career in Real Estate. She was deeply devoted to her home Church, Trinity Lutheran and served her congregation in many capacities throughout the years. She loved birds, nature and was privileged to travel occasionally. Trips with her husband to Alaska, Hong Kong and Germany were among her favorites.
She was preceded in death by her husband Colonel (Ret) Thomas R. Fowler and her father O. W. Taylor.
She is survived by her mother Ola Taylor of Arkadelphia, her sister, Frances Ferguson and her husband David of Arkadelphia, three sons, Phillip Fowler and his wife Jana of Allen TX, Thomas Fowler and his wife Heidi of Cedar Park, TX, as well as Paul Fowler and his wife Julie of College Station, TX. The joy of her life were her seven grandchildren, Jessica, Chase, Alyssa, Emily, Thomas, Erin, and Hannah.
Funeral services will be 11A.M. Monday in the Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home Chapel in Arkadelphia with Rev. Charles Hargett officiating. Visitation will be from 10 A.M. Monday morning until service time. Burial will be in the National Cemetery in Dallas- Ft. Worth later in the week. Sign on line at
