John Calvin Oglesby

John Calvin Oglesby of Beebe Arkansas, passed away peacefully on May 31, 2021 at the age of 81. Born in Little Rock, Arkansas he spent his childhood in Diaz, Arkansas. After enlisting in the US Army, he served in Korea as a member of the 4th Missile Battalion as a Sentry Dog Handler.

He married the love of his life Betty Lou Shaw in 1958. They were happily married for over 57 years. He was preceded in death by his wife Betty (1940-2015), his parents Luther and Martha, and his grandson Max Meents (1986-2018). He is survived by his daughters Deborah Skasick (Richard) of Bryant, Arkansas, Cynthia Wolfe (Wayne) of Wasilla, Alaska, grandson Zak Meents, granddaughter Libbie Davidson (Duane), his 3 great-grandchildren Austyn Meents, Gracen Davidson and Deven Davidson as well as 2 great-great-grandchildren.

He retired from GS Roofing in 2004. He dearly loved the many pets he had throughout his life and loved technology and gadgets. He was also an avid student of history.
