Johnathan Levi Haskell Cogburn

Johnathan Levi Haskell Cogburn, age 31, of Norman, passed away on Friday, April 7, 2023.

He was born on January 18, 1992, in Ado, Oklahoma, the son of Jerry Wayne Cogburn and Tina Renea Kirkpatrick Cogburn.  He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Levi and Oma Kirkpatrick; his paternal grandfather, Haskell Cogburn; and his two uncles, Danny Kirkpatrick and Roy Ray Cogburn.

In his younger years, Johnathan attended Hilltop Full Gospel Church, where he was baptized and always felt that to be his church.  He attended Caddo Hills School and enjoyed playing football.  He was a hard worker, always staying busy doing something.  He enjoyed fishing, hunting, spending time outdoors, kayaking, camping and he had a passion for riding anything fast, he never could resist any type of motorsports, he enjoyed the thrill of the speed of the ride.  Johnathan will be remembered the most for having a huge and giving heart.  He was forever putting everyone else’s needs ahead of his own, never being able to say no to anyone who he felt was in need.

Above all, Johnathan loved his family with all his heart, especially his niece and his nephews, who he adored.  There will forever be an empty place in all of our hearts, but we will hold on to the peace in knowing that Johnathan is now in a much better place, dancing with the angels, and we will see our son, brother, uncle and friend someday soon.

Johnathan is survived by his loving parents, Jerry and Tina Cogburn of Glenwood; his two brothers and sister-in-law, Jesse and Natasha Cogburn of Norman and Chase King of Glenwood; his two sisters, Tara Cogburn and Trina Cogburn, both of Glenwood; his paternal grandmother, Lorene Schenbeck; his niece, Faith Cogburn; his nephews, Isaac Chambers, Jason Cogburn, Joshua Cogburn, Daven Hearn and Levi Short; numerous cousins, extended family members and a host of wonderful friends.
