John Waller

John William Waller, 86, of Little Rock passed away December 24, 2015. He was born on December 1, 1929 in Beryl, AR to John Stanley and Pearl (Hopkins) Waller. He graduated from Little Rock High School in 1948. He so enjoyed meeting with his school friends for lunch every month.

After serving in the Army in Austria and Germany he attended Little Rock University. John was a Ham Radio Operator KC5ON and a collector of Musical instruments. He loved to travel especially by Amtrack. John was a main frame systems programmer. He helped put First National Bank on computer. He went to work for Systematics when it was four months old and retired from Alltel. John joined Temple Baptist Church in 1947, and was a very faithful member serving as Deacon. He was a very gentle and compassionate man, loving his Lord and family with all his heart.

Survivors include his wife of sixty-one years, Glenna Waller of Little Rock; daughter, Rebecca Lynn McNeill (Richard) of Bryant and son, Larry William Waller of Little Rock; grandson, Richard Hunter McNeill; granddaughter, Heather Lynn McNeill; brothers, Edward Lee Waller of Lonoke and Jerry Waller of Little Rock; aunt, Marie Hopkins of Vilonia. John is preceded in death by his parents and a baby brother.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, December 28th at Temple Baptist Church, 10710 Interstate 30, Little Rock, AR 72209 with Dr. Bill Brown and Brother Jerry Kidd officiating. Burial will follow at Pinecrest Memorial Park in Alexander, AR. Visitation will be held prior to the services starting at 1:00 p.m.
