John Clifton Studer, 72, passed away Thursday, April 28, 2022 in Malvern, AR. He was a loving father to his two children, Abraham “Abe” Lee Studer and Avery Lea Studer. John was a devoted and caring son throughout his life. A host of friends will remember his loyalty, generosity, unmatched sense of adventure, and ability to bring humor and fun to any situation.
John graduated from McClellan High School as a celebrated member of the Arkansas all-state football and track teams. He went on to receive his bachelor’s degree in History from Henderson State University in 1973. While at Henderson, John was a proud member of the Sigma Tau Gamma fraternity, serving first as Vice President then President of the Alpha Epsilon Chapter. His leadership skills helped him realize his passion for entrepreneurship when he founded Studer Trucking Company.
John is survived by his daughter, Avery Studer; brother, Ron Montgomery (Angela); nephew, David Montgomery (Beth); and a host of great-nieces and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his son, Abe Studer; his fiancé, Samalita Snowden Martin; and his parents, Margie and Henry Montgomery.
A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, May 4th from 5pm-7pm at Smith Little Rock Funeral Home located at 8801 Knoedl Court. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP), 199 Water St, Floor 11, New York, NY 10038; or the Wolfe Street Foundation, PO Box 3708, Little Rock, AR 72203.
