John Strother

John H. (Johnny) Strother age 65 of Bismarck died Monday, September 28, 2009 at his home. He was born June 29, 1944 in the Red Hill Community near Arkadelphia the son of the late Lester C. and Floy Mae McGuire Strother. Johnny was a welder and owner /operator for his Steel/Fabrication business for many years. He was a U.S. Navy veteran, active in law enforcement serving as a Hot Spring County Deputy and as a Deputy Coroner for Hot Spring County. One brother, Mickey Strother preceded him in death.

Survivors are three sons, Daniel J, Strother and wife, Chiaimie of Okinawa, Japan; John B, (Barry) Strother and wife, Shannon of Dequeen, Arkansas; Jeremy Strother and wife, Stacey; two step children, Robin Smoke and husband, Michael; Scott Shaw all of Bismarck, Arkansas; two brothers, Lee Strother and wife, Joyce of Victorville, California; Ron Strother and wife, Paula of Little Rock, Arkansas; seven grandchildren, Karen Strother, Rally Strother, Joseph B. Strother, Jacob Ryan Strother, Morgan Lane Strother, Kierston Strother, Jessikah Strother; one sister-n-law, Alva Strother of Bismarck, Arkansas; numerous neices and nephews.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM Friday, October 2, 2009 at the Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be in DeRoche Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8 PM Thursday at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Jimmy Shearin, Keith Dennis, John Keding, John Crangle, Jake Crangle, Blake Vavadil, Ronnie Stephenson, Joseph Strother and Jacob Strother. Honorary pallbearers will be Dan Canfield, Jeremy Luker , Andy Porterfield, Mike Smith, Ernie Cox, Ferrall Hall and Robert Ferguson. Family will receive friends at the home following services.
