John Edgar "Eddie" Roach

John “Eddie” Roach, age 65, of Caddo Gap, passed away on Tuesday, September 13, 2022.

Eddie was born on October 6, 1956, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, the son of Bobby and Ethel Rogers Roach.  When Eddie was three years old the family moved to Arkansas.  He was preceded in death by his parents; and his grandfather; Richard Roach.

On March 25, 1992, he met the one true love of his life, Karla Dorene Martin and her daughter, Megan and after just a very short time they were happily married on May 1, 1992.  Together the had the cutest little red headed daughter in February of 1995.  While Eddie was working on a Registered Black Angus ranch in Butte, Montana, this little girl turned out to be her Daddy’s shadow, partner in crime and most importantly, the apple of his eye.  We all knew, if Eddie was doing something, you could be assured she was doing it right beside him.

Eddie and his little family lived in many different places and states and he worked on many different jobs, from crystal mining in Arkansas, factory work and farm work in Oklahoma, on a pipeline in Colorado, running heavy equipment digging underground utilities in California, and even working in a hardware store until he decided to obtain his CDL, and started making deliveries for the store throughout Texas.  He also did several other jobs before he retired and moved his family back to Arkansas in 2013.

Eddie loved to look for arrowheads and crystals, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking, and spending time with his family and pugs.  He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, who loved his family with all his heart.  His family’s heart was shattered and broken when Eddie was diagnosed with a very race form of cancer and they knew their time was very short with him, but they take strength in knowing that he is no longer in any pain and is now in a much better place.

Eddie is survived by his loving wife, Karla Martin Roach of Caddo Gap; his son and daughter-in-law, John and Amy Roach of Hot Springs; his two daughters and son-in-law, Megan and Alex Jordan of Caddo Gap and Riley Roach and her fiancé, Levi Williams of Caddo Gap; his pride and joys, his grandchildren, Keaton Jordan, Josh Roach and his wife, Melissa, Ambrosia Dodson and her husband, Mason, Dillon Roach and his wife, Christianna, and Brianna Roach; his great-grandchildren, Bryar, Dodson, Delilah Roach and Will, Sophia, and Esabella Roach; his brothers and their spouses, Jimmy and Delda Lane and James and Vicky Lane; his sister, Barbara Patterson; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and a host of wonderful friends.

The family will hold a memorial service to celebrate Eddie’s life at 10:00 AM, Saturday, October 1, 2022, in the Murphy Baptist Church.
