John T. Powell, 76, of Sherwood passed away in Little Rock, Tuesday, July 22, 2008. He was born March 15, 1932 in Oppelo, Arkansas to the late Irvin F. and Gertrude Gaddy Powell. He retired from Mill and Mine Industrial Supply Company. John was quick to engage others in light hearted banter and was a consummate salesman of lawnmowers and scooters. He was a U. S. Air Force veteran and a member of Sylvan Hills Community Church.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his daughters, Cheryl Stubenrauch and husband, Scott, of Little Rock and Carrie Boswell and husband, Frank of Germantown, Tennessee; grandchildren, Ryan Stubenrauch and Olivia and Blake Boswell; brother, Rayburn F. Powell and wife, Mary of Conway; and a host of family and friends and the Good Shepard community. He was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Ida C. Powell; two brothers, Gaddy and Carroll Gene Powell.
The family wishes to express a special thanks to his doctors for the compassionate care provided by the staff of 9B at Baptist Health in Little Rock.
