John Autrey Porterfield

John Autrey Porterfield, 61, of Benton, Arkansas passed away March 4, 2022.  John was born August 4, 1960 to the late Autrey Julius Porterfield and Iris Lillian (Bush) Porterfield.

John worked in construction for most of his life and went to school for mechanics. He was extremely smart and a very hard worker.  John loved being outdoors, especially fishing and hunting. He always played music and enjoyed reading. John was selfless and always put everyone before himself. He loved to challenge his daughters with video games and looked forward to the birth of his new twin grandbabies on March 29. John was a great cook and always catered to anything his family wanted to eat.

John was preceded in death by his parents, Autrey Julius Porterfield and Iris Lillian (Bush) Porterfield.

John is survived by his wife, Monica Porterfield; daughters: Lindsey (Aaron) Knight and Lauren Porterfield; brothers: Donald Embry (Joanne) of Fulton, AR, Bobby Embry (Debra) of Texarkana, TX, and Larry Embry (Becky) of Hurst, TX; sister, Brenda Embry Morton of Jonesboro, AR; cousin, John Thomas Connell of Hope, AR; as well as a host of other family members and friends that will always love him and miss him.

Celebration of Life will be held from 10:00 – 12:00 PM, Wednesday, March 16 at Smith-Benton Funeral Home, 322 N. Market St., Benton, AR.
