John Owens

John Everett Owens, Jr., 93, of Beebe, Arkansas, was born September 3, 1921, in Harrisburg, Arkansas, and died January 11, 2015, in Little Rock. He is survived by his wife of seventy years, Jean Williams Owens; two daughters, Judy Belew and Debbie Walker; grandchildren Kristen Hall (Shane), Matthew Belew and Reed Walker; great-grandchildren Isabella Hall and Fisher Hall; and niece Ann Strother.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Estelle and John Owens and sister Faye Strother.
John was the owner and operator of Owens Lumber and Hardware Store for more than fifty years. He was a faithful member of the Beebe Church of Christ. John was an Army veteran of WWII.
The family wants to thank Beebe Retirement Center, Lakewood Nursing Home, UAMS and VA Hospice.
Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, January 15, 2015 at the Beebe Church of Christ, with memorial service to follow at 2:00 p.m. Memorials may be made to your favorite charity. Cremation arrangements by Smith - Westbrook Funeral Home.
