John Michael Johnson, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend passed away on August 13, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of love, dedication and service. He was born on August 12, 1937, in Salt Lake City, Utah to parents Ray Arnold and Verna Catherine (Cole) Johnson.

John's life was characterized by a deep commitment to his family and a passion for serving others. He proudly served and retired as a Master Sergeant from the Air National Guard, demonstrating his dedication to his country. John started his career in computer programming by training himself through textbooks, and later retired from Systematics, now Fidelity Information Systems, as a Senior Systems Analyst and an expert in his field.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, John will be remembered for his boundless love for his family. He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Molly Kathryn Johnson of Bryant, Arkansas and his seven children: Michael Johnson and wife Stacey of Twin Falls, Idaho; Lorraine Southworth and husband David of Queen Creek, Arizona; Aaron Johnson of Benton, Arkansas; Kimberly Avery of Little Rock, Arkansas; Rebekah Longeway of Bryant, Arkansas; Neil Johnson and wife Kimberly of North Little Rock, Arkansas; and Gwyn Jent and husband Beau of Mesa, Arizona. All were greatly blessed by his selfless, deep love for them.

John's presence will be missed by his numerous grandchildren - Rebecca, Nicole, Scott, Danielle, Heath, Devin, Wesley, John, Stephanie, Kathryn, Austin, Claire, Kristen, Samuel, Eva, Reed, Riley, Jacob, and Joshua and his great-grandchildren- McKemy, Sawyer, Jane, Wren, Lily, Patrick, Maelyn, and Scarlett. Seeing pictures and hearing about his grandchildren and great-grandchildren brought him much joy.

In addition to his immediate family, John is survived by his brother, Allen Johnson and wife Cathy of Salt Lake City, Utah, as well as a wide circle of relatives and friends who were touched by his kindness and warmth. He was predeceased by his parents, Ray Arnold and Verna Catherine Johnson; siblings- Walter, Claire, Arnold "Bill," and Katherine; and his son-in-law, Mark Avery.

John's joyful personality and enthusiasm for life extended beyond his family. He was a dedicated Boy Scouts of America Leader, Mentor, and Advocate, leaving a lasting impact on the community and the young men he served. In his leisure time, John enjoyed his hobbies, which included crafting, taking long walks, golfing, and collecting Air Force model planes. His appreciation for nature and sports enriched his life and brought him happiness.

A graveside service to honor and celebrate John's life will be held on September 3, 2024, at the Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery in North Little Rock. The service will begin at 10:00 AM.

John Michael Johnson will forever be remembered for his unwavering love, generosity, and commitment to his family and community. His presence will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
