John Merkley

John Paul Merkley, 57, of Mayflower, passed away Saturday, March 5, 2016. He was born August 29, 1958, in Gary, Indiana. He was preceded in death by his parents, Delbert Merkley and Pat Keefer. He worked in the water proofing and restoration industry. He was an avid fisherman and dedicated Chicago sports fan. He is survived by his wife, Pat Castleberry; his son, Dane Merkley of Little Rock; two sisters, Kellie Halkitis (Mike) of Chicago and Diane Merkley of Portage, Indiana; one brother, Andy Merkley of Indiana; step-father, Frank Keefer of Indiana; and his canine companion, Molly. Gathering of Remembrance will be Tuesday, March 8, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Griffin Leggett Funeral Home, 1751 Dave Ward Drive in Conway. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Gentiva Hospice or the charity of choice.
