John Lee McGoon

John Lee Max McGoon, PhD, 80, died August 26, 2023, in Hot Springs, Arkansas.  

He was born March 8, 1943, in St. Paul, Minnesota, and he was a resident of Hot Springs. 

John obtained his post graduate degrees at The University of Alabama.  He taught information systems there at the university, where he received tenure. 

He was also employed by Drummond International Coal Company in Birmingham, Alabama, and he retired from Birmingham Steel.

John was preceded in death by his partner, Michael Ward; his brother, Harry McGoon and his faithful poodles, Harley and Cocoa.

He is survived by his sister, Patricia Jerde and nieces and nephews of St. Paul, Minnesota.

Interment will take place at a later date at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens in Arkadelphia, Arkansas.
