John Mayfield

John Charles Mayfield, Jr., 71, of Mabelvale passed away Tuesday, September 01, 2015. He was born June 12, 1944 in Richmond, Kentucky. He was a member of St. Theresa Catholic Church, Circle J Hunting Club, and the Knights of Columbus #6615. He was a toolmaker for 34 years at Little Rock Tool Service, and the overall maintenance provider, "Mr. Fixit", for Holy Souls Catholic Church for 10 years. John loved fishing, hunting, gardening, party barge excursions and fun hours with his grandsons, family, and friends.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Hilda Strobel Mayfield, of Mabelvale; son, Phillip Mayfield (Elizabeth) of Little Rock; daughter, Kimberly Climer (James) of North Little Rock; mother, Betty Mayfield; brother, Tommy Mayfield (Angie), all of Sherwood; sister, Marcella Golden, of Lexington, Kentucky; five grandsons, John Calhoun Mayfield, Joseph Anthony Mayfield, Vincent Climer, Spencer Climer and Nathan Climer; and many extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, John C. Mayfield, Sr.
Memorials may be made to St. Theresa Catholic School, 6311 Baseline Road, Little Rock, Arkansas 72209.
A rosary service will be held at 6:30 p.m., Thursday, September 3rd followed by a visitation from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at St. Theresa Catholic Church. Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, September 4th at the church.
