John M. Fox, 77, of North Little Rock, a retired Public Health Sanitarian, passed away Saturday, June 16, 2007. He is survived by his daughter, Jennifer Morgan, her husband, John Mark Morgan; two grandchildren, Meredith and Jennings Morgan; a special friend and companion, Anna Styn, and many friends and colleagues who will cherish his memory.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. T.C. Fox and brother, James T. Fox. A graduate of North Little Rock High School, he served in the United States Air Force and attended the University of Arkansas.
For 45 years, he was a Registered Public Health Sanitarian for the City of Little Rock and then the Arkansas Department of Health, specializing in the inspection of milk processing plants and diary farms and was certified by the Federal Food and Drug Administration as a Milk Rating Officer.
Until his retirement in 2005, he had been appointed by every Governor since 1981 to serve as a member of the Grade A Milk Public Health Advisory Committee. He was a member of the Arkansas Public Health Association and the Arkansas Society of Professional Sanitarians.
The family would like to express their gratitude to Dr. Joe Buford, the staff of Springhill Baptist Medical Center, and Janie Fillmore, his caregiver. Memorials may be made to Immaculate Conception Church, where he was a member, or the American Cancer Society.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 A.M. Tuesday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Burial will be at Roselawn Cemetery. Vigil service and visitation will be 7:00 P.M.
