John Jones

John Howard Jones of Little Rock died Sunday, July 17, 2011 at the age of 66 years old. He was born July 31,1944 in Houston, Texas, the son of James Earnest and Linda Ernestine Taylor Jones. John attended St Luke United Methodist Church in Little Rock and was a member of the Masons. John began working for Safeway in Little Rock when he was 19 years old as an industrial maintenance worker. He later worked for Harvest Foods and City Market. John was a loyal and dedicated employee. He was very proud to work at the same store location in Little Rock for over 40 years.

John was a wonderful brother to six siblings. He has three brothers: James Taylor Jones of New York City, William Eugene Jones of Elkins, AR , and James Earnest Jones Jr. of Little Rock, and three sisters: Virginia Ruth Jones Crawford of Lampasas, TX, Marcia Jane Jones Shepherd of Sherwood, AR, and Elizabeth Oscaranna Jones Allison of Cammack Village, AR.

John was not only a loyal employee and wonderful brother, but also a true friend. He was a very giving person and was always willingly to lend a helping hand when needed or to just give you a hug. John was preceded in death by his parents and beloved aunt, Eula Ruth Harrison of Little Rock. He is survived by his brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, and extended family who will truly miss him.

Funeral services will be 10 AM Saturday, July 23 in St. Luke's United Methodist Church in Little Rock with Dr. Candace Barron officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery in Arkadelphia. Visitation will be from 9 AM Saturday until service time at the church.
