John "Jerry" Jerome Haley

John "Jerry" Jerome Haley, went to be with the Lord on July 2, 2022. He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Charles Thomas Haley. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Christean Haley; a daughter, Mary Elizabeth Garrett and son-in-law, James Garrett; granddaughter, Ericka Garrett; grandson, B.J. Garrett; three great-grandchildren, Carter Rash, Presli Rash and Levi Garrett.

Jerry had a 39-year career in education. He received a Bachelor of Science degree with a major in History and Business Administration from Arkansas State University. He later received a Master's Degree in Education Administration from George Peabody College of Teachers in Nashville, TN. Jerry was a champion for children his entire career in education. His desire and passion was for them to have the best education and life opportunities available.

He spent 35 years as a member of Gideon International. He held many offices, and his favorite area of service was calling on pastors where he had the opportunity to go in and speak to congregations about the ministry and spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ throughout the world through testaments.

The most important relationships in his life were number one with his Lord and second with his family. He cared for them well until the end. His last request on this earth was to go and meet his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in Heaven.

Visitation will be at 10:00 am, Thursday, July 7, 2022, with service to follow at 11:00 am at First United Methodist Church in Maumelle, AR. Interment is at Oakland Cemetery in Fordyce, AR at 3:00 pm.

Memorials may be made to Gideons International or First United Methodist Church Maumelle.
