John Fleming Hughes, 78, of Little Rock, passed away Monday, July 26, 2010. Born in Beirne, Arkansas to Amanda and Brandt Hughes, he was a member of First Christian Church. He spent most of his life as a salesman in Missouri and Arkansas and retired from Waste Management in 1997.
John loved spending time with family and friends, fishing and fixing things. He could always be counted on to help wherever he was needed.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 58 years, Evelyn Mace Hughes; his daughter and son-in-law, Cathy and James Webb; his son, Kelly Hughes; sisters, Mary Smead and Nina Wright; brothers-in-law, Bob Wright and Raymond Mace (Ola); and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be Friday, July 30 at 10:00 a.m. at First Christian Church, followed by burial at Oakland Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Little Rock Funeral Home, 8801 Knoedl Ct. (NW corner I-630 and Barrow Rd.). Memorials may be made to First Christian Church, 1500 N.
