John Howard

John B. Howard, age 75 of Arkadelphia died Sunday, Jan. 8, 2006 at the Baptist Medical Center in Little Rock. He was born Sept 24, 1930 in Clark Co., AR the son of the late Hugh Miles and Susie Green Howard. He was a retired U.S. Air Force Master Sgt serving in WWII, Korea and Vietnam. He was a The Worshipful Master of Lodge #381 in Arkadelphia, a member of the Cattleman's Assoc, Scimitar Shiner's, VFW, American Legion and a strong supporter of the Sheriff's Youth Ranch. He was a member of the Manchester United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Bonnie Wade Howard and two sons, John B. Howard, Jr and Miles McKinley Howard;


Survivors include one son, James Wade Howard; three sisters, Margaret Ann Robertson, Carol Bock and Marcia Curry all of Arkadelphia; five grandchildren.


Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Thursday, Jan 12, 2006 in Ruggles-Wilcox Chapel with Rev. James Calhoun and Rev. Bob Sanders officiating. Interment will be in Atchley Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8 PM Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Atchley Cemetery Fund or Sheriff's Youth Ranch. Pallbearers will be Wes Sossaman, Jason Watson, Johnny Haltom, Dennis Rowe, Kendall Hunter, Ron Daniell and Benny Fite. Honorary pallbearers will be elected officials in Clark County.
