On Wednesday, April 7, 2021, John W Hodoway III, loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather passed away at home at the age of 73.
John was born on September 2, 1947, in Little Rock, AR to John Ward Hodoway II and Virginia Hodoway. John graduated from Cabot High School in 1964. John attended State College of Arkansas. John worked in the mechanical engineering field at A.W. Johnson Co. and finished his career with Cromwell Architects Engineers.
John was passionate about service. He served as an assistant scoutmaster at Troop 534 in Conway Arkansas. He was a member of the Order of the Arrow and a Wood Badge graduate. He was a member and past officer of the West Little Rock Rotary and a Paul Harris Fellow. John was also a past president of the ASHRAE Arkansas Chapter (2007). John was a PADI Divemaster, Cavern Diver, and SCUBA-dived all over the world. John loved to travel, and he shared this excitement with his friends and family.
John was a member of St. James United Methodist Church and the New Challenges class.
John was preceded in death by his parents John and Virginia Hodoway, and his wife Marilyn. He is survived by his son Jon Hodoway of Rogers, AR, and sister Sue Nutt of Hot Springs, AR. John had 8 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at St. James United Methodist Church, 321 Pleasant Valley Drive, Little Rock on Saturday, May 8th, 2021 at 10 a.m. and all who knew him are welcome to attend. His ashes will be placed in the columbarium there after the ceremony.
