John Alvin Harper, age 85 of North Little Rock, passed away February 6, 2015 at Baptist Hospital North Little Rock. He was born on February 2, 1930 in Oak Grove, North Little Rock, Arkansas. He was the son of John Riley and Alliemae Harper.
John was a skilled cabinet maker for R & R Cabinet Shop for fifty years. He was a member of Levy Baptist Church for fifty years and enjoyed outdoor sports including hunting, fishing, camping, and waterskiing.
He is preceded in death by his son, Alvin Wade Harper (Diana), his parents, his sisters: Ruth Creasy, Mary Sowell, Thelma Huckaby, and his brother Eldon Harper.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 64 years Wanda (Patsy), his daughter Celenda Perry (Michael), his grandson Mark, daughter-in-law Diana, his granddaughter Beatrice Perry, his brother James Harper, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, February 11, 2015 at Huson Funeral Home Chapel at 7700 Highway 107, Sherwood, Arkansas, with burial immediately following at Pinecrest Memorial Park Cemetery in Alexander.
Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Monday, February 9, 2015 at Huson Funeral Home in Sherwood.
