John Gathright
John Henry Gathright, 80, of Alexander, passed away January 9, 2019. Born in Huttig, Arkansas to Deffie and Marjorie Simpson Gathright, he was a U.S. Navy veteran and retired from Safeway as a Produce Manager.
Preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Bobby Gene Gathright, he is survived by his children, Donna Kay Gathright of North Little Rock and Lori Ann Maddox (Cary) of Maumelle; grandchildren, Alec Horton and Will Horton, of North Little Rock, and Grace Maddox and Sam Maddox, of Maumelle; brothers, Shelly Gathright of Heber Springs, Bernard Gathright of Smackover and Ron Gathright of Dyersburg, Tennessee; and a host of other family and friends, including his Friday afternoon golf group.
There will be a celebration of John's life on Sunday, January 13 from 2:00-4:00 p.m. at the Maumelle Country Club, 100 Club Manor Dr., Maumelle, AR 72113. Private interment will take place at the Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery in North Little Rock.
