John "Bruce" Garrett, Sr.

John “Bruce” Garrett, Sr., of North Little Rock, Arkansas passed away on September 14, 2023. He was born in Merdian, Mississippi on May 26, 1947 to Robert and Sybil Garrett.

Bruce is preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Robert Garrett, Jr.

He is survived by one son, John Garrett, Jr.; one daughter, Janna Garrett; and grandchildren, Lawson Standridge and Ella Standridge.

Bruce loved golf and sports. During college he was on the USM golf team and went on to be a golf professional at Jackson Country Club. He loved motorcycles and enjoyed riding with his son, wife and friends. Always a social person, he never met a stranger. Bruce met the love of his life, Ella, in High School. He loved his family and always wanted them to do well. He was on the golf course the day he passed doing what he loved to do. Lots of family and friends that will miss him dearly.

Visitation will be at 1:00 PM, Thursday, September 21, 2023 at Smith North Little Rock Funeral Home. Memorial Service will begin at 2:00 PM.
