John Mark Gahr, a devoted husband, father, and family man, passed away from this world on Friday, June 14th, 2024. John was born on September 24, 1961, in Wynne, Arkansas, and leaves behind a legacy filled with love and cherished memories.
John was a high school graduate who valued hard work and commitment in all aspects of his life. John was a man of many talents, but found his calling as a welder. His craftsmanship and dedication were evident in every project he undertook.
Although John fought and overcame some hardships throughout his life, he had a deep love for his family, enjoying precious moments together and creating lasting bonds. John found solace in the simplicity of nature through hunting and expressed himself best through the music of his guitar.
John leaves behind to cherish his memory: his beloved wife of 28 years, Diane; daughter: Katelyn Gahr (Cody Miller) of Maumelle, AR; stepson: Dale Wayne Reline of Austin, AR; sisters: Wanda (Ricky) Armstrong of North Little Rock, AR, and Tricia (Steve) Campbell of Hot Springs, AR; along with a host of nieces, nephews, close family and friends to mourn his loss. As they reminisce about the beautiful moments shared with John over the years, they take solace in knowing that he is now at peace.
John was preceded in death by his loving parents, Joseph William Gahr and Agnes Gahr Mohr, as well as his brother Joseph “Bubba” Gahr.
A Memorial Service to honor and celebrate the life of John Mark Gahr will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, June 27, 2024, at Smith Family Funeral Home, 7700 Hwy 107, in Sherwood, Arkansas. The service will be a time to reflect on the profound impact John had on all those around him and to find comfort in shared memories.
In lieu of flowers, memorials towards the funeral costs would be greatly appreciated by the family. Donations can be made to Smith Sherwood Funeral Home by calling (501) 834-1191.
