John L. Ellerbee, Jr., 66, of Cabot, Arkansas, was born January 7, 1942, in Upson County, Georgia, to John L. and Alice (Fallin) Ellerbee, and he died Wednesday, December 31, 2008. He worked at 3M Co. for thirty-seven years, served as a Ward alderman and coached youth sports in his younger years. John was a member of Ward First Baptist Church. He loved his dogs, cooking, going to Branson, and most of all, spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife of forty-seven years, Sue Ellerbee; two sons, John Kelly Ellerbee and wife Cherie of Austin, Jason Ellerbee and wife Angela of Ward; one daughter, LeAnn Ellerbee-Gray of Austin; seven grandchildren, Jessica, Ethan, Jacob, Eden, Evan, Rebecca and Morgan; four siblings, Pat Farrer, Danny (Glenna) Ellerbee, Sue (Gary) Staggs, Vicky (Mike) Tucker; and one sister-in-law, Brenda Ellerbee. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Phillip Ellerbee.
Family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday at Westbrook Funeral Home, Beebe. Funeral will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 3, 2008, at Ward First Baptist Church, with burial in Mountain Springs Cemetery.
