John Ola Buchanan Coon Age 97 Of Arkadelphia died Thursday, November 30, 2006. She was born March 16, 1909, in Livingston TX, the daughter of John and Minnie Ola Benfield. She was a resident of Arkadelphia since 1945, a member of the Mt. Zion Baptist Church and a former member of the Dalark Baptist Church. Her husbands, Glynn A. Buchanan and Conway Coon, preceded her in death.
Survivors include two sons, Glen A. Buchanan Jr. and wife Bobbie, of Waco TX, Robert Buchanan and wife Mary, of Knoxville TN; two daughters, Marilyn Howland, of San Antonio TX, Carolyn Stallings of Little Rock AR, thirteen grand children, thirty-two great-grand children, and three great-great grand children.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, December 3, 2006 at 2:30 pm in the Ruggles-Wilcox chapel with Rev Charles Hargett officiating with burial in the Atchley Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8 pm Saturday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Atchley Cemetery Fund, 2470 N. Hwy 7, Arkadelphia, AR 71923 Or the Arkansas Hospice Foundation, 5600 W. 12th St., Little Rock, AR.
