John Daniel Borden

John Daniel Borden, 72, affectionately known as "John Boy," was born on July 20, 1952, in Tuscumbia, Alabama. He departed this life on September 2, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of kindness and generosity that will be cherished by all who knew him.

John Boy was a remarkable individual, described by many as a very special soul with a pure heart. He had an unwavering commitment to helping others, never saying no when someone asked for any kind of help. His selflessness was evident in his willingness to give the shirt off his back to those in need. A true outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting deer and squirrel, as well as fishing, camping, and generally anything that took place outdoors. He thrived in the natural beauty of the world around him, and even proclaimed himself as a "Mountain Man". John Boy was also well-traveled. Having explored many parts of the United States, he held a particular fondness for an RV Park in Texas, where the deer who called it home, would eat right out of John Boy's hand.

His passion for sports was undeniable, and he took great pride in being an avid Alabama fan. He embraced every opportunity to cheer for his favorite team, sharing his enthusiasm with those around him. John Boy's memory will forever remain associated with laughter, warmth, and a spirit of adventure.

John Boy is survived by his beloved sisters: Carolyn Perkins, Loretta Morigeau, and Barbara Kerr; his brothers Michael and Billy Borden; along with a host of nieces, nephews and extended family who loved him dearly. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Charlene Borden; his sisters: Dorothy Reed, Sarah McGhee, and the sister he lost when she was a baby, Charlotte Borden. Additionally, he mourned the loss of his brothers: Wayne, Ray, Tommy, Tony, and Robert Borden.
