John David Bechtold, 71, of North Little Rock passed away Tuesday, January 26, 2016. He was born September 18, 1944 in St. Louis, Missouri to Fredrick and Anne Entrekin Bechtold. He was a retired attorney from Jefferson City, Missouri for over forty years, and he considered himself the "oldest rookie lawyer" in Arkansas. John David enjoyed playing pool at Hays Center, recently rediscovered his passion for riding motorcycles and was an avid golfer.
He was predeceased by his parents and a nephew, Keith Eric Wankum. He is survived by his stepson, Christopher Travis Potts (Heather); three grandchildren, Landon, Graham and Lewis; sister, Mary Wankum (David); niece, Angela Duncan (King Chambers); nephews, Jeff Wankum (Natalie) and Mark Wankum (Sarah); great nieces, Stephanie, Taylor, Zoe, Sophia, Lorelei, Anne Marie, and Lucy; and great nephew, Benjamin.
Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, January 30 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, North Little Rock. A visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Friday, January 29 followed by a rosary at 7:00 p.m., at Smith - North Little Rock Funeral Home.
