John Edward Barclay

John Edward Barclay, 81 of Ward, Arkansas passed away Saturday, July 29, 2023.   He was born April 11, 1942, in Canton, Illinois to Clarence Nicholas and Maxine Faye (Morrow) Barclay.

He was predeceased by his wife of 45 years, Teresa Barclay and a sister, Patricia Jeanne (Barclay) Farrar.

John is survived by his children, Shawn Allan Barclay, Troy Jo Barclay, Derek Lee (Debra) Barclay, Jennifer (Marc) Vincequere and Kate (Dustin) Starnes; grandchildren, Sam Starnes, Jack Starnes, Ben Starnes, Alexander Vincequere and Aubrey Kate Vincequere, Gage, Taylor, Hannah, Phebe and Caleb Barclay.

John enjoyed a varied career retiring from the United States Air Force in May 1982, from the US Post Office in 2004, and from the City of Ward in November 2018.  He enjoyed fishing and watching westerns.  He never met a stranger!

Visitation will be Thursday evening, August 3^rd from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Smith Westbrook Funeral Home Chapel, Beebe.  Funeral services will be at 9:00 a.m., Friday, August 4^th at the Grace Community Church, 30 2^nd St., Ward, Arkansas 72176.  Interment at Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens, Beebe.
