Joe Sims

Joe Donald Sims, 85, of Benton, Arkansas joined his Lord and Savior December 3, 2015. He was born January 15, 1930 in Smackover, Arkansas to the late Ralph D. Sims and Dora Bell Lilly Sims.
Joe worked for Reynolds Metals and retired after twenty-three years of service. He was a member of Holland Chapel Baptist Church. He loved to camp and fish at Degray Lake. His fishing buddies were Nubbin Wray, and the late Paul Crouch and Grady Wisinger. Joe also enjoyed traveling with his wife.
Joe was preceded in death by Ralph D. Sims, Jr. and William L. Sims.
Leaving behind to cherish his memories are his wife of fifty-five years, Sybil Jones Sims of Benton; son, Ralph F. Sims and wife Brenda of Benton; daughter, Suzie Hightower of Heber Springs; grandchildren, Michael Sims and Brian Sims and his wife Belinda; great-grandchildren, Colton, Kaylynn, Evan, and Adam Sims; two sisters, Randa Dumas of Columbia, MO and Maribel McKinney of Ruston, LA; and many other relatives and friends who loved Joe and will miss him always.
Reception visitation will be held from 6:00 - 8:00 P.M., Monday, December 7, 2015 at Smith-Benton Funeral Home. Funeral service, officiated by Bro. Frank Thurman, will be 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, December 8, 2015 at Smith-Benton Funeral Home. Entombment to follow at Smith-Rosemont Cemetery. Pallbearers are Bob Beaty, Tommy Wisinger, Kendall Jones, Danny Jones, Jody Simpson, and Wendell Simpson. Memorials may be made to the Gideon Memorial Bible Plan.
