Joe Roland Parker

Joe Roland Parker, age 72, of Pike City, died Monday, January 10, 2011. He was born on December 4, 1938, near Dierks, the son of Clyde Parker and Clora James Parker. On May 24, 1958, he was married to Jean Jackson Parker who preceded him in death on May 17, 2005. He was also preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Veda Chevalier and Zella Priest; and his brother, Don Parker. He was a farmer. Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Tommy and Loretta Parker and Neil and Donna Parker, all of Pike City; four grandchildren, Cody Parker, Dana Brock, Danny Fatheree and Jessica Parker; his sister, Regina Ellis-James of Dierks; and a special friend, Sissy Cummings of Pike City. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, January 13, 2011, in the Pike City Cemetery with Bro. David Blase officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Glenwood. Pallbearers will be Henry Ward, Zack Ward, Travis McClure, Tracy Mabery, Chuck Holcomb and Tim Jackson.
