Joe Franklin Haney

Joe F. Haney, 89, of Arkadelphia, Arkansas, passed away March 5, 2023, at Baptist Hospital in Arkadelphia.  He was born August 27, 1933, in Jackson, Tennessee, to William Riley and Mary Emelia Haney of Jakson, Tennessee.

 He was a member of Park Hill Baptist Church and a past deacon of Cedar Grove Baptist Church.  Joe was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean Conflict, an Engineering graduate of the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, Tennessee and a member of the Elks Club.

Joe loyally served twenty-nine years with Reynolds Metals Company from 1966 to 1992. He served Reynolds Domestic and International Divisions, starting as assistant maintenance superintendent and working his way up to plant engineer in many states, including Virginia, Alabama, Louisiana and Arkansas.  He joined Reynolds International Division in Venezuela and iran from 1977 to 1979.  He retired in Louisiana in 1992 serving as plant engineer and quality assurance manager over both Lake Charles and Baton Rouge plants.  After retiring, Joe made Arkadelphia his home from 1992 to the present.  Joe briefly came out of retirement to oversee a large project at The Patterson Plant for three years.

Survivors are his wife, Mary Lou Haney; his two sons, Neil (Debbie) Haney of Springfield, Ohio and David (Melinda) Haney of Arkadelphia; his daughter, Amy (Greg) Aud of Arkadelphia; his five grandchildren, Daniel (Shannon) Haney of Batesville, Kevin Haney of Magnolia, Jacob Guidry, and his fiancé, Jessie Pye, Wesley (Lily) Haney of Springfield, Ohio, Lindsay Haney of Springfield, Ohio, Olivia Aud of Tucson, Arizona, Hayden Aud of Maumelle,  and Maple of Little Rock; his four greatgrandchildren, Harper, Jude and Asa of Batesville, and Daisey of Springfield, Ohio.

A visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. March 7, 2023, at Park Hill Baptist Church in Arkadelphia with his celebration of life service beginning at 2:00 p.m.

Honorary pallbearers will be Neil Haney, David Haney, Daniel Haney, Kevin Haney, Jacob Guidry and Greg Aud.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105.  

Services are entrusted to Ruggles Wilcox Funeral Home, 517 Clay Street, Arkadelphia, Arkansas 71923.
