Joe Dale Goodwin, 87, of Scott, Arkansas was born April 16, 1927 to Joseph Mark and Vera Goodwin in Lynn, AR and died February 16, 2015.

He attended Lynn High School and served in the U.S. Army during WWII. He graduated from the Missionary Baptist Seminary in Little Rock, AR with a Doctorate of Divinity in 1963.

Joe pastored numerous churches in Arkansas and Houston, Texas and served as a missionary to Peru and Romania, before retiring from the ministry in 2007.

He is preceded in death by his parents and eight siblings: Everett, Ozro, Alford, Paul, John Warren, Pearl Penn, Merle Sawyer, Eula Robertson, and various other relatives.

Joe is survived by his wife of 66 years, Louise Edwards Goodwin; two daughters and their husbands, JoAnn and Larry Henry and Linda and Mike Patterson; one son, Mark Goodwin; three grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and numerous other relatives.

Funeral service will be Friday, February 20, 2015 at 2 P.M. at North Little Rock Funeral Home, 1921 Main St. North Little Rock, with burial to follow at Arkansas Memorial Gardens on Old Jacksonville Highway 161. Visitation will be at 12:30 on Friday February 20, 2015 at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Missionary Baptist Seminary, 5224 Stagecoach Rd. Little Rock, 72204.
