Joe Campbell

Joe Campbell, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, peacefully passed away on March 15, 2025, surrounded by his loving family at the Amberwood Nursing Facility. Born on October 21, 1935, in Cameron, Texas, to Ira and Cora Campbell, Joe dedicated his life to serving his community and nurturing his faith.

For 40 years, Joe served as a pastor in Texas and Arkansas, where his strong faith and deep love for Jesus resonated with countless individuals. He was an active member of Trinity Baptist Church until illness prevented him from attending. His presence in the church and beyond was marked by a wonderful sense of humor and a joyful spirit, as he loved to joke around and bring light into the lives of those around him.

In addition to his pastoral work, Joe also had a commendable career as a service technician with Sears for 15 years. Following this, he spent another 15 years working for Roller Ballard Funeral Home, a role that he cherished immensely due to the bonds he formed with his coworkers.

Joe had a passion for the outdoors, particularly hunting, which he relished doing with his sons as a proud member of a hunting club in Hope, Arkansas. His fandom for the Dallas Cowboys and the Arkansas Razorbacks showcased his enthusiastic spirit for sports, which he enjoyed sharing with family and friends.

The legacy of Joe Campbell is carried on by his devoted wife, Linda Campbell of Benton; son, Rusty (Debby) Campbell of Texarkana, TX; and his cherished grandchildren, Angie (Greg) Landers, Brandi (Mark) Payne, Holly Campbell, and Meredith (Ryan) Rook. Joe also delighted in the presence of his six great-grandchildren: Austin (Stacy) Dwiggins, Lily Brewer, Nicholas Payne, Jackson Landers, Brooklyn Landers, and Jacob Rook. He is survived by his sister, Lenora Hurry of Garland, TX; daughter-in-law Lisa Campbell of Hope, AR; sister-in-law Lois Campbell of Mt. Pleasant, TX; along with many nieces, nephews, and close family and friends who will miss him dearly.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Ira and Cora Campbell; his daughter, Cindy Campbell Spencer; son, Max Allen Campbell; brothers Wendell, Kenneth, Robert, and Harold Campbell; and sisters Viola Avens and Katherine Harbor.

To honor  and celebrate the extraordinary man that Joe Campbell was, a visitation will be held from 1:00 to 2:00 PM on Wednesday, March 26, 2025 with a memorial service following at 2:00 PM, at Trinity Baptist Church, 702 Church St., Benton, AR, 72015, with Bro. Mike Titsworth officiating. The family will have a private graveside burial at New Rosemont Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Joe's name can be made to the Journey Sunday School Class at Trinity Baptist Church, 702 Church St., Benton, AR, 72015.

The family expresses their heartfelt gratitude to Amberwood Nursing Facility and the Journey Sunday School Class for the love and support extended to Joe and to them during this challenging time. Joe Campbell will be remembered fondly for his unwavering faith, infectious laughter, and the profound impact he made on the lives of those who were fortunate enough to know him.
