Jody Porter

Jody Porter, age 81, of Amity, went to be with her Lord and Savior on December 30, 2022. 

 

Jody was born on December 23, 1941, in Alexandria, Indiana. She was the daughter of Quentin Roosevelt Odom and Clarice Redman Odom. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Porter; her parents; her son, Randy Porter; her brother, Michael Odom; and her sister, Patty Small.

 

Jody met the love of her life, Bill Porter in Alexandria, Indiana, where they were married on September 27, 1959. She was a homemaker, being the most loving wife, mother, and grandmother to her family. Jody was a faithful member of Amity First Baptist Church where she was very involved with her Ladies Bible Study and their prayer chain. Jody loved needlepoint, doing puzzles, reading, and sewing. Jody was an amazing friend and will be deeply missed by all that knew and loved her.  

    

She is survived by her two sons and daughter-in-law, Scott Porter of Amity, and Tony and Lisa Porter of Springdale; her daughter and son-in-law, Kelli and Mark Kissick of Alexandria, Indiana; her grandchildren, Stephani and Patrick Campbell of Amity, Mitchell Kissick of New Braunfels, Texas, Nathaniel Kissick of Springport, Indiana, and Morgan Porter of Springdale; her great grandchildren, Liam, Amelia, Malachi Campbell, and Eliza Cook-Porter; and many brothers-in-law, sister-in-laws,  nieces, nephews, extended family members, and a host of wonderful friends.

 

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM, Thursday, January 5, 2023, at the Smith Family Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. John McAnally and Bro. Carl Newman officiating.

 

Interment will be in the Langley Hall Cemetery under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Home, 209 North 3rd Street, Glenwood, Arkansas 71943.
