Joanna ?Jean? Sady, 89 of North Little Rock, passed away on Saturday, October 4, 2008. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Latin Mass Community at St. Patrick?s Catholic Church in North Little Rock.
She is survived by a daughter, Joanna and Dr. Ludwik Kozlowski of North Little Rock; three sisters, Frances Mikesic and Lucy Lenick, both of Johnstown, Pennsylvania, and Eleanor Mauger of North Tonawanda, New York; grandchildren, Krystyna Anna Crawford (Brent) of Pelham, Alabama, Carl C. Kozlowski of Pasadena, California, Ludwik Kozlowski, Jr. of North Little Rock, and Nick Kozlowski (Leslie) of Memphis, Tennessee; great-grandchildren, Christina, Anna, Megan, William, and Ashley Crawford, and Colin Kozlowski.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Casimir Sady; her parents, Walter and Josephine; a sister, Mary; and a brother, George.
Joanna was born in Johnstown, Pennsylvania. She lived most of her life in California where she enjoyed rides in the country. Her husband, awarded with a Purple Heart, gave his life for the defense of Normandy in the 2nd World War, where he is buried. Joanna was a loving, proud mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She always put herself last. The last several years she went through chronic illness. The family is thankful to the Rev. Fr. Terrence Gordon for his dedicated pastoral care he gave her. The family also is thankful to doctors Patricia Vickers, M.D., and Michael Church, M.D. of Baptist Hospital in North Little Rock for their excellent service to her and for compassion and understanding given to the family.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. John the Baptist Latin Community of North Little Rock, or Children of God for Life, Murfreesboro, Tennessee.
Requiem Mass will be held at 10:30 A.M. Friday at St. Patrick Catholic Church. Burial will be in Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery.
Rosary service will be at 7:00 P.M. Thursday at North Little Rock Funeral Home Chapel, 1921 Main Street, 758-1170.
