JoAnn Thurman

JoAnn Walker Thurman of North Little Rock passed away August 20, 2021. She was born June 19, 1936 to Lee Walker Sr. and Velma Blankenship Warren in Huntington, West Virginia. Throughout her time in Huntington, she grew up and ultimately received her Associates Degree from Marshall University. In 1958 JoAnn moved to Little Rock, Arkansas. In 1967 she married John B. Thurman, Jr. For 55 years, she worked as a bookkeeper for several different accounting firms. In 2013 JoAnn was diagnosed with breast cancer. During her battle with breast cancer, her loving husband stood by her side to support her every step of the way.

JoAnn is preceded in death by her parents, and her brother, Lee Walker Jr.

JoAnn is survived by her son, Philip W. Thurman (Becca); her step-children, Barbra Anderson (Charlie), John Briner Thurman (Traci), Robert Thurman, and Martha Hogan; 9 beloved grandchildren and 16 beloved great grandchildren, and her special niece, Linda Warren.
