JoAnn Rodriguez

JoAnn Sarna Rodriguez, 93, daughter of the late John and Annie Sarna of North Little Rock, passed away on Thursday, June 2, 2016. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Antonio Rodriguez, two brothers, Clement Sarna and Danny Sarna, and a sister, Bridget Flake. She is survived by her brother, Toby Sarna, sister, Rita Schnebelen and numerous nieces and nephews.
JoAnn was a member of St. Anne's Catholic Church in North Little Rock, having served as a Eucharistic Minister and Lector. She graduated from Mt. St. Mary Academy, and went on to St. Louis, Missouri, to receive her Bachelor of Education Degree. She attended Notre Dame University, where she obtained a Master's Degree in Theology. She was a devoted teacher with a career that spanned over 40 years. Her life was one of service to others.
The family expresses their gratitude to the entire staff at Pleasant Valley Nursing and Rehab for treating JoAnn with kindness and loving care, also for making her feel as though she had a "home away from home." In addition, they wish to thank Arkansas Hospice for their compassion in bringing comfort to JoAnn during her final days,
Visitation will be at Smith-North Little Rock Funeral Home on Monday, June 6, 2016 at 6 p.m. followed by a rosary at 7 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Anne's Church on Tuesday, June 7, 2016, at 10 a.m. Burial will be at Immaculate Heart of Mary Cemetery.
