Jo Ann Reaves Platt

Jo Ann Reaves Platt, 88, of North Little Rock passed away Saturday, January 23, 2021. She was born November 19, 1932 in Batesville, Arkansas to the late Claude and Minnie Reaves.

Jo Ann worked hard and loved life.  She worked for Wendy’s for 30 years and was the first female manager of a Wendy’s in Arkansas, but that was nothing compared to raising her six sons. She was a leader and was president of Jacksonville Chamber of Commerce for many years in the 1980’s. When not working, she relaxed by cheering on Mark Martin and Sammy Sosa as she loved Nascar and the Cubs almost as much as she enjoyed seeing the Dallas Cowboys lose. She will be dearly missed by family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 39 years, Elmer A. Platt, Sr.; sons, James Steven Platt and Elmer Augustus Platt, Jr.; daughter, Peggy Ann Platt; and her beloved dog, Boo. Jo Ann is survived by her sons, David Wayne Platt (Pam) of Bryant, Eddie Platt of Maumelle, John Davidson (Debbie) of North Little Rock and Charlie Platt, of Maumelle; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Humane Society of North Little Rock.

A visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, January 28, 2021 at Smith North Little Rock Funeral Home. Graveside services will be 11:00 a.m., Friday, January 29th at Oaklawn Cemetery in Batesville.
