JoAnn Harness

JoAnn Harness passed away and met Jesus at 12:01 AM on April 1, 2024. She was born on October 16, 1942, in North Little Rock, Arkansas, to Walter Velton Methvin and Ruby Jewel Methvin.

JoAnn was preceded in death by Walter Methvin (father), Ruby Methvin (mother), and James Hoyt Harness Sr. (husband). She is survived by her two sons, Hoyt Harness (Jaime) and Scott Harness (Stacey), as well as nine grandchildren: Tess, Hunter, Mallory, Kendall, Faith, Hope, Lanie, Bennett, and Ian. Additionally, she is survived by six great-grandchildren: Barrett, Hadley, Dawson, Sami JoAnn, Navy, and Malachi.

JoAnn dedicated more than 30 years of her life as a nurse. She then decided to shift her career path and became a substitute teacher and assistant librarian at Oak Grove Elementary School. JoAnn was passionate about both professions and helped everyone she met. Her career paths provided her with the perfect outlets to care for people who were hurting.

JoAnn was an exceptional person who held many titles throughout her life. She was a beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and follower of Jesus. She cherished being called "Mom" and "Maw Maw" the most. JoAnn was a selfless individual who lived a life filled with compassion and love. Her family is a testament to her deep desire to help others and follow Jesus. She always encouraged people and brought a smile to their faces. JoAnn was also a committed volunteer and a respected member of her church, That.Church, in Sherwood, Arkansas. Even when she became homebound, she never missed an online church service. Under the handle "Granny 541," she shared pictures, comments, and videos that made people laugh and her grandchildren blush. She was an epic presence online. JoAnn will be deeply missed by everyone who knows her.
