It is with sadness and much love that the family of Joann Doak Brindley announce her peaceful passing on Monday, December 26, 2022 at the age of 93. Joann was born in Brinkley, Arkansas on March 26, 1929 the daughter of William Walter and Mollie (Miller) Doak. She moved to Little Rock at the age of 16. She married Joe P. Brindley on June 13, 1954, leading to a love story of 68 years of marriage. In 1966, their son, Kenyon, was born which made their family complete. Becoming Kenâs mother was one of the two greatest blessings for Joann, with her marriage to Joe being the other blessing. Joann and Joe raised Ken in Little Rock, later moving to Maumelle to enjoy retirement life on a golf course. In 2009, Joann and Joe moved to Conway, AR to be closer to their grandchildren and daughter-in-law.

Joann graduated from State Teachers College, (now University of Central Arkansas) in 1951 with a Bachelor's degree in Education. Joann taught in Greenland, Bald Knob and Bryant schools in Arkansas. Joann was a 10 year Breast Cancer Survivor.
Joann spent many summers vacationing with her son and husband in Hot Springs, Arkansas. They eventually purchased a lake front condominium where they continued sharing their enjoyment of boating and lake life with their grandchildren. Joann loved taking cruises with husband and later with her grandchildren to the Caribbean and Europe. Joann was an avid Bridge and Gin Rummy player for most of her adult life. She loved the precious moments she shared with her grandchildren, Madeline and Blake. Joann enjoyed golf outings, Arkansas Travelers baseball games and eating catfish with her family. She was a member of Little Rock Razorback Club, Western Hills Country Club, Maumelle Newcomers Club, and the First United Methodist Church of Maumelle.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother William âBillâ Doak and his wife Louis, and her son Kenyon Doak Brindley.
Joann will be lovingly remembered by her husband Joe P. Brindley, daughter-in-law Melanie Kay Sikes Brindley, grandson Blake Kenyon Brindley, granddaughter Madeline Kay Baker and her husband Mark Baker, all of Conway, Arkansas.
The family would like to thank Gentiva Hospice of Conway, the staff at Superior Health and Rehab and the staff at Brookdale Living for the medical care, kindness, compassion and love they showed Joann and her family over the past few months.
