Joan Whitbey

Joan M. Whitbey, 81 of Mabelvale, passed away on Tuesday, August 18, 2009 at Arkansas Hospice Center in Little Rock. She was born on April 29, 1928 in Pine Bluff, Arkansas; she was the daughter Abe Meyer of Anne Mae Reinburger Meyer.
Joan was a homemaker, who loved bowling, puzzles, and loved her pets, she was a member of Signs of Love Church, the Little Rock Association of the Deaf, and the Little Rock Deaf Senior Citizens Club.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Survivors include her husband James Whitbey of Mabelvale; a daughter Ann Wilkinson of Mabelvale, sons Abe Wilkinson and wife Teresia of Social Circle, GA, and Billy Wilkinson and wife Pat of Athens, GA; six grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, August 21, 2009 at Huson Funeral Home Chapel in Little Rock with Bishop Gerald Michau officiating.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 20, 2009 at Huson Funeral Home in Little Rock.
