Joan Patricia Arendt Helton, 79, of Sherwood passed away Wednesday, April 11, 2012. She was born July 9, 1932 in North Little Rock, Arkansas to the late Albert and Marion Nicewarner Arendt. She was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church, graduate of Little Rock Sr. High in 1951 and attended Henderson State in Arkadelphia for one year. She was devoted to her granddaughter and to her family.
She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Billy J. Helton, of Sherwood; two sons, Douglas Scott Helton, of North Little Rock and Mark Wesley Helton (Joan Theresa), of Sherwood; sister, Cheryl Arendt Ford, of Houston, Texas; brothers, Albert Arendt, Jr. and Leslie Arendt, both of Little Rock; and one granddaughter, Kaelyn Renee Helton, of North Little Rock. She was preceded in death by her son, Michael Wayne Helton.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m., Monday in the North Little Rock Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery.
