Joan Bridges Haynes Clark

On July 12, 2024, Joan Bridges Haynes Clark left this earth to be carried home. She was well read, well-traveled, and lived her life to the fullest. She received a scholarship from and attended Harding University. After a music degree, she earned a degree in psychology in Oklahoma. She was privileged to teach/work/be a part of York College, York, Nebraska; Oklahoma Christian University, Edmond, Oklahoma, and Fontbonne University, St. Louis, Missouri. Her career path then changed to management with AT&T in Oklahoma, Lucent Technologies in Washington D.C., until she moved to Nazareth, Israel, with her husband William (Bill) Clark. On their return to the States, they worked in Springfield, Virginia until Bill’s retirement, upon which they moved to Beebe, Arkansas. Joan’s families, however, served as her accomplishment focus.

She remembered a grandson by Bill, an adopted son from Sam F. Haynes, her parents, and siblings to the day of her own passage.

Her loves include: Elerie Loren (Ron) Crawley, Fredrick Lawrence (Michelle) Haynes, Terence Lee Haynes (Darlene), William Loncey Haynes (Marcia); grandchildren David Arnett and Jennifer Portell, Lacey and Lance Haynes, Geoffrey Haynes and Emily Taylor, and Megan Navarre-Darden. In her life were Susan Clark Grogan (Warren Ray), David Clark (Linda), Robert Clark, Virginia Clark Mouawad (Edward), and Dan Clark (Barbara). Bill’s grandchildren and Joan’s are Davis, Julie (Jones), and Annie (Ginn) Beasley; Aaron and Mary Catherine (Schallert) Clark; Adrienne (French), Carmen, Alec, and Ian Clark; Zackary and Clinton Mouawad; Kristina, Brittany and Nicole Clark; plus Andre’ Hamilton. Together with Bill, she was Great Mer to 17 great grandchildren.

“Joan will be remembered as a “workaholic” by all, including her church family. She chose to put her Heavenly Father first above everyone and all events, and to declare his Son as her Lord. May she travel home safely.”

Memorial service will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 27, 2024, at Beebe Church of Christ.
