Joal Timothy Benton, 79, of Greers Ferry Arkansas, went to his Heavenly home the morning of May 31st, 2024. Tim was born on February 17, 1945, to the late Joe and Alma Benton. Tim was a devoted husband, dad, and proud poppa of his beloved âgirlsâ. He married the love of his life, Pauletta, on November 2, 1967. They were rarely seen apart and enjoyed 53 years of marriage. The last 3 years without her, Tim has been truly heartbroken, so we rejoice they are back together again. He was a man of many talents, and he would say his favorite was playing the piano, thatâs what many may remember him for. Other notable talents include: a dedicated pharmacist; a member of several bands over the years playing classic rock, and country music; an avid hunter of deer, duck, even bear from time to time. He also had a passion for archery and collecting guitars. His extended family included many friends, band members, and hunting âbuddiesâ from all around.
Tim is preceded in death by his wife, his parents, and his only brother Joe (Penny) Benton. He is survived by 4 sons; Scott, Blake (Angie), Jason (Ashley), and Bryce; and granddaughters Ella and Blythe Benton.
A celebration of Timâs life will be held on Thursday, June 6th, 2024 at St. Josephâs Catholic Church in Conway, AR. Pallbearers are Blake Browning, Mark Riley, Kenny Bane, Russ Williams, Brett Meek, and Matt Morse. Rosary is scheduled for 10:00am, followed by visitation at 10:30am, and then funeral at 11:00am. Friends and family are invited to attend as we celebrate this very loved âmusic man.â Please visit www.griffinleggettfuneralhomes.com to leave condolences and/or words of encouragement for the family.
