Jo Ellen McCurry

     Jo Ellen McCurry, age 90, of Conway, Arkansas passed away on Thursday, October 24th, 2024. She was born in Twitty, Texas on May 21st, 1934, to the late Tolbert F. and Clara Chapman Owens. Jo was preceded in death by her parents, by her husband Jim McCurry who passed away at age 54 after 30 years of marriage, by three siblings, Wilma Cater, Johnnie Hamman, and T.E. “Red” Owens, by her daughter Janie B. McCurry who passed away in 2008 at the age of 53 and her special niece Karen Bell.

      Jo Ellen is survived by the two people who were her companions and friends that helped her move into her later years after the death of her daughter, Kathy and Ron Davis of Conway. Jo Ellen was like a second mom to Kathy. Kathys mother (who has passed away) and Jo Ellen were best of friends over the years. We can’t leave out her most special friend, confidant, and companion “Suzie” her Pug. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, and other extended family that will miss her.

      A special “thank-you” to Greenbrier Nursing and Rehab for the gentle, compassionate, and loving care that staff and all involved provided “Jo-Jo” while she was there.

     Graveside funeral services will be held on November 8th, 2024 at 1pm at the Pinecrest Memorial Park in Alexander, AR., next to her husband Jim.
