JimO’Lee Newton Angel, of North Little Rock, passed away on April 26, 2020. She was born in England, Arkansas on November 22, 1940 to J.B. and Ollie Lee Newton. Her Christian faith was very important to her. JimO’Lee graduated from North Little Rock High School in 1958 and then went on to the Baptist Hospital School of Nursing for RN’s. She attended University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences for Nurse Practitioners. She worked for Baptist Medical Center in the operating room and retired after thirty-five years of nursing with the Veterans Administration Medical Center.
She is preceded in death by her parents. Known as “Mamaw” to her family; she is survived by her daughters, Tami Henderson (Paul James “P.J.”) and Debi Arrington; grandchildren, Chris Wilkins (Megan), Courtney Lee May (James “J.J”), Justin Henderson, and Shane Raper; great-grandchildren, Trip, Hannah, Kayleigh, Madilynn, Emily, J.P., Mackenzie, and Brinley; sister, Brenda Nalley (Brian); and many cherished friends.
Her daughters wish to extend a special thanks to John Woodard, Judy Thornsberry, and Teresia Dupins for their love and care of our mother.
Memorials may be made to Covenant Family Church, 1400 James Street, North Little Rock, Arkansas 72117.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, May 1, 2020 at Edgewood Memorial Park with Minister Teresia Dupins officiating.
