Jimmy Max Buck

Jimmy Max Buck, 80, of Jacksonville, left this earth on Friday, July 30, 2021 to be with his savior in his new Heavenly Home.  He was born May 20, 1941 in Alpine, Arkansas to the late Carmie Edward and Lois Marie Glover Buck.  Jimmy was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years Charlotte who passed in 2018.

He is survived by his two sons: Brent Edward Buck of North Little Rock and Marc Allen Buck of Sherwood, by two grandsons, Dalton Buck (Alexis) of Ft. Riley, Kansas and Blaine Buck of Malvern.  Also, by his brother Pete Buck (Ruby) of Atlanta, Georgia, and his sister Linda White (Russell) of Birmingham, Alabama.

Jimmy retired from Entergy in 1995 and then starting building homes under the name of “Jim Buck Construction”, having built over 100 homes in the Cabot, Jacksonville and Sherwood communities.  He and Charlotte were members of the Sylvan Hills Church of Christ for many years.  Jimmy loved what he did, building houses and the camaraderie between all who was a part of that.  He loved his cars, especially his ‘68 and ‘69(s) Mustangs, he had several.

Funeral services will be Monday, 11:00 a.m., August 2, at Smith-Sherwood Funeral Home officiated by Mr. Bob Acre and assisted by Mr. Greg Clark and Mr. Jackie McRoberts.  Visitation will be Monday from 10:00-11:00 one hour prior to services.  He will be placed at Rest Hills Mausoleum with Charlotte.  Please visit www.smithfamilycares.com/westbrook for online guest register.
